What began in 1954 as a true "Trunk Show" that was pulled out from the backs of cars at a winter golf tournament, the 70th PGA Show was a clear sign this year that golf' continues on its upward trajectory. After two years of global slowdown, The PGA Show, a trade-only event organized by PGA Golf Exhibitions and The PGA of America, opened with energy and enthusiasm that was felt across the nearly 30,000 attendees from more than 86 countries that included golf professionals, industry leaders, retailers, celebrities, organizations and media members.
A buzz of energy could be felt from the start on January 24th at the fitting and hitting bays of PGA Show Demo and Fitting Day at Orange County National Golf Center in Winter Haven, Florida. More than 70 golf companies and associations circled the vast driving range and practice facilities, providing opportunities to test in real scale the latest in equipment and technology as well as coaching, club fitting and range operations.
We started the day warming up on the range with a stop at Golf Range Association of America and Wittek Golf Supply Specialists then swinging past friends who are building opportunities through golf for U.S. Veterans and their families at Folds of Honor and Veteran Golfers Association.
